About the Artist
The Artist: From Shadow to Clarity
Call me Obscura Vane. My real identity isn't important. For years, I operated under the alias IPaintYourFetish, where I focused on the materialization of private fetishistic topics and character studies for the discerning collector. Today, that work has evolved. Following a period of medical eye treatment that has quite literally brought my world into sharper focus, I have transitioned to a more refined, higher-fidelity aesthetic while still maintaining the same themes.
My work remains rooted in the intimate and the obscura, but it is now driven by a pursuit of a more painterly, illustrative and pictorial realism. I am a professional digital (and traditional) painter and fine artist with decades of experience dedicated to capturing the weight, lighting, and texture of the human form with a level of detail that honors the classic oil painters of the past. More than the technical aspects of my craft, creative freedom is central to my work. Listening to my clients, working with real models, and being able to bring their wishes to life has been one of the greatest joys of this delightful profession.
The Method: The Weight of the Brush
In an era of automated imagery and algorithmic shortcuts, I remain a manual realist. My process is deliberately slow. Every anatomical detail, every fold of fabric, and every play of light is painted by hand within the Krita studio environment using specialized brushes, tools and methods.
Although the stylus is my main work tool (and the cause of a sore arm), I don't limit myself exclusively to it: I make use of all the modern resources that digital painting provides, as long as they are under my control.
I do not use generative AI, 3D modeling, or photo-manipulation. While I utilize reference models, realistic textures and historical archives to ground my work in reality, the final execution is a dialogue between my eye and the digital canvas. This old school approach ensures that every commission is not just a file, but a bespoke manifestation of the client’s vision, crafted with the patience and intent that only a human hand can provide. Digital art made by a human for humans.
